Breakfast Chia Cups

For busy people, chia cups have to be one of the easiest ways to start your day off right. Packed with omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, protein, fibre, iron and calcium, it is also an easy opportunity to add in the superfoods you love. 

Why should you soak your chia? 

Chia seeds have many benefits, but what we love about the most is its ability to absorb up to 12 times its weight in water. Which means, soaked chia slows down digestion and the time it takes for your stomach to empty, which means, you will feel fuller for longer. It will also activate the seeds making it more bio-available to your body, helping to prevent blood sugar spikes, decreasing cholesterol and keeping you hydrated for longer!



6 tablespoons of chia 

2 cups of milk of your choice (almond, cashew, coconut or cows milk) 

2 tbsp of sweetener of your choice (maple, honey, organic fair trade agave) 

1 pinch of salt 

1/2 tsp of vanilla powder (optional) 

1 banana (optional) 

1 tsp of maca powder (optional) 

1/2 tsp of cardamom (optional)

  1. Bend in a high speed blender banana, milk, salt, vanilla, maca, sweetener and cardamon 

  2. In a large bowl add blended mix to chia. Whisk ingredients until combined. 

  3. Place in fridge for 1 hour or overnight 

  4. Optional - top with our coconut yogurt or activated granola
